Working with a local knitting group, I created a temporary installation of knitting and crochet (known as yarn bombing or guerrilla knitting) on a postbox on a local high street in East London. Up over the festive period, it was a playful invitation to passersby to stop, take notice and interact with their surroundings.

The nature of yarn bombing means that once up, you leave it and accept whatever becomes of it. When installing, whilst amused, onlookers expressed scepticism about whether it would last long. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see it intact three weeks later, save a Christmas light which accidentally got shut in the postbox door by the postman.
